A fundraising event which saw four charities pitch for money Dragons’ Den-style to a room full of City professionals was hailed a great success.
At the event, hosted in December by The Funding Network, the “dragons” backed the charities to the tune of £32,000.
The evening was sponsored by Michael Morris, chief executive of Picton Property Income, and featured a star turn from Michael Palin, who performed the Merchant Banker sketch from Monty Python’s Flying Circus.
Of the total raised, Kawempe Home Care achieved £10,580; £6,659 went to Action for Stammering Children; Streetscape received £8,590; and the Helen Bamber Foundation for victims of human rights violations went home with £8,046.
