PZ Cussons signs for Salford manufacturing scheme

Soap and detergent manufacturer PZ Cussons has signed a deal to take a 77,500 sq ft manufacturing facility at Agecroft Commerce Park in Salford.

The company, which owns brands including Imperial Leather and Morning Fresh, has signed an agreement with the Northwest Regional Development Agency (NWDA) to take the unit at the former colliery site.

The site is being redeveloped by the NWDA with funding from English Partnerships.

The deal includes the potential to expand the unit to 85,000 sq ft, as well as the creation of a 50,000 sq ft facility on adjacent land.

Maurice Gubbins, policy and partnerships manager for the NWDA, said: “The NWDA has been working closely with PZ Cussons to secure the company’s relocation to the Agecroft site.

“Not only will it safeguard a significant number of jobs at the company, but it will also create a state of the art facility at Agecroft Commerce Park, which will strengthen its reputation as a leading, high quality business location.”

DTZ acted for NWDA and CB Richard Ellis acted for PZ Cussons.
