Qatar has announced plans to invest £5bn in the UK over the next three to five years, and will target energy, healthcare, infrastructure and IT services.
The UK is Qatar’s first investment destination and also the largest investment destination for Qatari investors, Qatari finance minister Ali Sharif al-Emadi said.
The country already has investments totalling more than £35bn-£40bn in the UK, he said.
