Quadrant gets go-ahead for Portishead scheme

Quadrant Estates has received planning consent for its A1 retail scheme in Portishead near Bristol.

The 21,000 sq ft scheme will be part of the regeneration of the town centre, redeveloping the land between the High Street and the 200-acre redevelopment of the former docks land by Bristol developer Westmark.

Quadrant bought the 1.3-acre site last year, in conjunction with Rowe Holdings.

Work will begin shortly and completion is set for summer next year.

Christopher Daniel, director at Quadrant Estates, said: “We are very excited to be involved with the regeneration of Portishead and to provide some much needed retail facilities for the town.

“With the current and proposed residential expansion the town is currently under provided for compared to greater Bristol and we have been pleasantly surprised with the retailers expressing interest in the scheme.”

The letting agents were Stephen Smart & Co.
