Quadrant signs Italian restaurant brand at Canary Wharf

Big Mamma has become the latest food and beverage occupier to take space at YY London, a newly refurbished 415,000 sq ft office building in Canary Wharf, E14.

The Italian restaurant group, founded in 2015 in Paris by entrepreneurs Victor Lugger and Tigrane Seydoux, has taken 9,500 sq ft of space on a 15-year lease. It will begin operations next month.

The restaurant will sit on the ground floor, facing directly onto the open spaces of Jubilee Plaza opposite the Jubilee Line Underground Station and the new waterfront Eden Dock.

Earlier this year Brother Marcus, an Eastern Mediterranean restaurant group, brought its signature brunch, mezze, cocktails and wines to YY London, having signed up for 2,861 sq ft on a 20-year lease. Hagen, a Danish espresso bar, also recently opened a 1,141 sq ft bar on a 10-year lease.

Tristram Gethin, founding partner at Quadrant, said: “We welcome Big Mamma to YY London. The brand joining Revolut, Brother Marcus and Hagen, is further testament to the building’s quality and the role it is playing in Canary Wharf’s community.”

YY London was purchased in 2019 by a joint venture between Quadrant and funds managed by Oaktree Capital Management.
