Three new tenants have signed at Quayside in Cambridge at a city-record rent.
Amadeus Capital Partners, Audio Analytic and Unipart Logistics have taken 13,000 sq ft of space for a total rent in excess of £420,000 pa or £36 per sq ft – a joint record price for office space in Cambridge city centre with CB1.
Amadeus Capital Partners has taken 4,798 sq ft on the second floor over five years to facilitate its expansion.
Part of the first and the third floors, comprising 8,360 sq ft, have been let by Audio Analytic, a university spin-out and that creates embeddable software sensors for smart homes, which is moving from its previous premises on St Andrew’s Street.
The remaining 2,365 sq ft on the first floor and has been let to Unipart Logistics, and will be the company’s first foothold in Cambridge.
Quayside was built in the 1980s, with views over the River Cam and the university’s Magdalene College and bars and restaurants on its ground floor.
Steven Harvey, associate at Cheffins, which manages the building on behalf of Magdalene College, said: “In such a central position, interest came from all over the world as more global companies look to put a foothold in Cambridge.
“Quayside is an example of how costs of refurbishments can be easily off-set by prime rental values and these will continue to perform as Cambridge enjoys inward investment from a variety of different sectors alongside the tech and bio-tech industries.”
