Queen’s Speech to announce far-reaching legislative changes

The Queen’s Speech tomorrow is expected to include proposals to establish a parliament for Scotland and a lesser assembly for Wales.

The Queen will also mention legislation to set up a national regional network of development agencies and provision for a London authority responsible for capital-wide issues.

A new Lottery initiative will channel funds into health and education projects. There will also be an endowment fund for science and the arts.
