Queens Moat Houses puts £110m of assets up for sale

Queens Moat Houses, the hotel group taken over by Goldman Sachs’ property fund last summer, has put £110m of assets up for sale.

Goldman Sachs’ Whitehall Fund, which teamed up with US hotelier Westmont Hospitality to take over the debt-laden hotel group in a £544m refinancing deal, has appointed Christie & Co to sell nine of its 60 UK properties.

The Moat House branded hotels are located in Bedford, Birmingham, Cardiff, Harlow, Dartford, Northampton, Nottingham, Telford and Watford, and range in size from 90 to 172-bedrooms with a total stock of 1,194 bedrooms.

The hotels will be sold free of their branding and management.
