Former London & Regional director Jason Kow has launched a £1bn fund to buy UK and European real estate.
Kow’s private equity fund manager, Queensgate Investment, which was set up as a joint venture with LJ Investment Group, has launched the Queensgate Investments Fund I.
The vehicle has closed with around £100m of discretionary equity and around £400m of co-investment equity from ultra high-net-worth European families.
The fund, which will be geared, will target investments in long-income assets, hotels and special situations throughout the UK and Europe.
Kow, who was the head of special situations at L&R, said the upcoming expiry of up to €500bn of property debt in Europe and regulatory changes create “unique buying opportunities for investors with ready equity who are able to act rapidly”.
