Quintain has appointed two development directors and created a new operating board as it drives forward its two key London regeneration projects.
The listed investor and developer, led by chief executive Maxwell James, has poached Grosvenor’s residential development specialist Anthony Gill to “play a leading role” overseeing residential plans at its £5bn Greenwich Peninsula scheme.
The 46-year-old has been at the Duke of Westminster’s property company for eight years, during which he looked after Grosvenor’s 400,000 sq ft NEO Bankside, SE1, project, which it is developing in partnership with Native Land. He also worked on residential projects at Alpha Place, SW3, and Campden Hill, W8.
Prior to joining the landed estate in 2004, Gill had previously held various roles at Thornfield Properties, Tesco and Healey & Baker.
The appointment comes in the same month as Quintain completed a joint venture with Hong Kong investor Knight Dragon that will provide a £300m, 20-year revolving development funding facility for the 14m sq ft scheme, SE10.
Alongside 10,000 new homes, the project also includes a 3.5m sq ft commercial district, new schools, shops and hotels.
The partners are currently tweaking the design of the 150-acre consented mixed-use masterplan before bringing forward the first phase of 611 homes at Peninsula Quays.
Quintain has also promoted Ben Giddens to development director at its Wembley regeneration project.
Giddens, who joined the firm as a senior development manager in 2006, will now manage Quintain’s 85-acre development in North West London, which will include 5,500 homes alongside its 350,000 sq ft London Designer Outlet and Wembley Stadium.
The pair will join Quintain’s newly created operating board alongside chief operating officer James Saunders, transactions director Rajesh Shah and construction director David Crump.
The operating board will work closely with the group’s executive directors including former investment banker James – who took the helm of the company in June following the departure of Adrian Wyatt – Rebecca Worthington, Richard Stearn and Nigel Kempner.
