Quintain submits plans for Birmingham regeneration

Quintain has lodged plans for the first 250,000 sq ft of offices at its City Park Gate scheme in the centre of Birmingham.

The application for Plot 1 of the City Park Gate development, which is next to Moor Street Station and overlooks Selfridges, consists of two Grade A office buildings at the gateway to the city’s 420-acre Eastside regeneration scheme.

Eastside is Birmingham’s largest regeneration scheme and focuses on the neglected areas of Eastside, Digbeth and Deritend.

Quintain bought the 1m sq ft City Park Gate site last year, and plans to develop the area into four office buildings, a hotel, 250 homes, a supermarket and shops.

Savills advised Quintain.

Progress on the project comes as Quintain in an interim statement said it would withhold dividends for up to two years as it protects against further declines in the property market.
