Arena Racing Company hires property director

A former project manager for Chelsea Football Club has been appointed property director at Arena Racing Company.

Stephen Higgins will start the newly created role from 1 January 2015 to advise the company on its 15 UK racehorses among other assets.

He is a trained chartered surveyor and was previously managing director of Newbury Racecourse. Prior to working in British racing he acted as project manager for Chelsea Football Club during the redevelopment of Stamford Bridge.

Tony Kelly, ARC managing director, said: “We are delighted Stephen has agreed to join us. His experience of racecourse and estate management will be of considerable benefit in helping ARC develop its diverse property portfolio across all its racecourses.

“We look forward to welcoming him to the team.”
