Tower climb 300 industry runners test their fitness by racing to the top of 230m Heron Tower
More than 300 runners took part in the CBRE Property Peak Challenge, racing up the Heron Tower’s 888 stairs to raise money for charity.
Teams from across property, including British Land, CBRE, Cushman & Wakefield, DTZ and Estates Gazette, competed to be the fastest to climb the 230m building, the City’s highest.
The inaugural event on 23 February raised around £50,000 for property industry charity LandAid and the Worshipful Company of Chartered Surveyors.
The fastest team up the tower was CBRE with a combined time of 21 minutes, followed by DTZ, Monty’s Zimmers and Team James.
Robert Skioldebrand from Montagu Evans won fastest male veteran, scaling the heights at 5 minutes 40 seconds, and Rachael Beaumont from Russell Cooke claimed the fastest female accolade, at 6 minutes 20 seconds.
Racers were treated to beautiful views of London at night and a well-deserved glass of champagne at the top.
