Glazers is looking to sell a stake in Manchester United, with Sir Jim Ratcliffe keen to buy it.
The billionaire has stated an interest in buying the club from its beleaguered US owners, the Glazer family.
“If the club is for sale, Jim is definitely a potential buyer,” a spokesperson for Ratcliffe said.
Elon Musk will not be bidding, despite him tweeting “Also, I’m buying Manchester United ur welcome,” yesterday morning. He later said that it was a “long-running joke on Twitter. I’m not buying any sports teams”.
