Developer Radian has been selected by the Homes and Communities Agency, to deliver a residential development for the Portsmouth Gateway, Tipner.

The company will deliver 80 homes and some 6,500 sq ft of commercial space on the former PD Fuels site, which has been derelict for nearly a decade.

It sits on HCA land which, once fully developed, will include 600 new homes and associated commercial development. Radian will undertake phase one.

The land is part of a number of sites Portsmouth city council wants to find partners to invest up to £650 into for development .

Kevin Bourner, HCA head of area, said: “This is a major step in the regeneration of Tipner. We look forward to working with Radian to deliver a high-quality scheme which is a really important addition to the city and its economy.”

Radian is expected to submit a detailed planning application in summer 2014. Construction is scheduled to start in early 2015.
