The Post Office has announced a radical shake-up which will see up to 2,000 traditional branches disappear.
More than half of the nation’s 11,800 outlets will get £45,000 facelifts with many resurrected as a Post Office Local counter in a convenience store or petrol station. The Times reports closures but The Guardian says the government has again pledged not to close any more branches.
