Gordon Ramsay is taking legal action over the validity of the lease of his Camden, north London, pub and hotel.
The lion’s share, £6.7m, of £9m one-off costs at his Kavalake group in the year to last August related to a provision on the York & Albany lease signed in 2007. The site’s owner has described the claim as “absurd”. The restaurateur is poised to announce a new restaurant just off Regent Street in the West End. He will also open a venue this year on the site of his debut restaurant, Aubergine, in Chelsea. Ramsay’s business partner, Stuart Gillies, said there was “no reason” why they couldn’t open 50 restaurants over the next five years.
