Randall & Quilter has opened its first Essex office, taking 11,000 sq ft at Mayland House, Witham.
The non-life insurance investor has agreed a five-year let at £9 per sq ft at the Witham-based Braintree district council-owned office block. A rent-free period was granted to offset fit-out works.
Randall & Quilter is the first new tenant at the building since it was refurbished. Negotiations are also underway for an occupier to take the first floor, totalling 22,000 sq ft.
Councillor Patricia Newton, said: “We remain assured that the decision to lease, rather than sell off Mayland House, was the right decision to make.”
Lambert Smith Hampton advised the landlord. The tenant was unrepresented.
