Gaming operator the Rank Group has appointed a new acquisitions manager.
Andrew Buckley is joining the group, which operates the Mecca Bingo and Grosvenor Casino brands, after 10 years as head of estates and acquisitions at rival Gala group.
Alan Armstrong, Rank’s compliance & development director CEO, said the 2005 Gambling Act had created significant opportunities for gambling firms: “Rank’s strategic direction is the right one to capitalise on these changes.
“Andrew’s appointment substantially strengthens our management team and provides us with a new sense of leadership and direction in the acquisition field.”
Rank currently has 113 Mecca Bingo clubs and 33 Grosvenor Casinos in the UK, 11 bingo clubs in Spain and two casinos in Belgium.
The group also owns Blue Square, an online betting firm.
The company recently sold off its Hard Rock Cafe chain to Seminole Hard Rock Entertainment for £490m.
