Construction output in the second quarter increased at the most rapid pace since 1963, Office for National Statistics (ONS) data shows. Projects delayed from the first quarter because of snow and a pre-election public-sector development push boosted performance.
The ONS said the revival in the building trade was stronger than first thought, investment was higher and the contribution from rebuilding of stocks was less important.
