Rapleys has made its debut in Birmingham with the acquisition of Birmingham-based agency Bartlett Property.

The acquisition, part of Rapleys’ growth strategy, will complete on 1 May, when former Donaldson’s agent Alfred Bartlett, founder and director of Bartlett Property, will join the property and planning consultancy as partner to lead the new team from offices on Newhall Street.

Bartlett Property has been operating for more than 10 years and specialises in the retail, leisure, roadside, and trade-park sectors. Prior to this Bartlett worked at Rapleys in the 1990s.

Robert Clarke, senior partner of Rapleys, said: “We are looking forward to working with Alfred again, and we welcome his regional and sector knowledge.”

Bartlett added: “I am very pleased to be rejoining the fold and am looking forward to contributing to the firm’s growth.”

The new firm is in the process of recruiting three staff. Rapleys currently has 152 staff across UK offices in London, Bristol, Edinburgh, Huntingdon and Manchester.

The deal represents the second acquisition by Rapleys in less than a year. Last September, the firm acquired London-based chartered surveying firm Biscoe Craig Hall, the first acquisition in Rapleys’ 60-year history.
