Record business park to double in size in Caerphilly

WCR, the property group owned by South Wales industrialist Anthony Record, is to double the size of its £9m Caerphilly Business park, near Cardiff.

The 10,219 sq m (110,000 sq ft) park sits on 2.6ha (6.5 acres).

Plans for the park include a 24-bed hotel, a 3,716 sq m (40,000 sq ft) two-storey office block, a courtyard-type office scheme, a crèche and a conference centre.

The park’s current occupiers are Records National Britannia business and the Employment Service, which occupy 4,273 sq m (46,000 sq ft) between them.

There is currently 929 sq m (10,000sq ft) available at the second phase.

WCR director Mike Wallace, who has been poached by Record from the Cardiff office of DTZ, said that the park would be built in three phases.

Wallace added: “The fact that we are in a designated Objective One grant area is a big bonus for us and our ability to attract occupiers.

“We aim to be on site in October and we are already enjoying interest, particularly from contact centre occupiers.”
