Redrow has acquired two sites in Kent with outline planning permission for 987 homes and a combined gross development value of £369m.
The first is a 93-acre site on the outskirts of Ramsgate and has consent for up to 785 homes, 30% of which will be affordable. The scheme includes a primary school, community building, a retail unit and 39 acres of green open space.
Glen Wells, land director at Redrow South East, said: “Manston Green represents our first site in Thanet and is one of local significance, sitting adjacent to the former Manston Airport.”
The housebuilder has also bought a 23-acre site on Lower Rainham Road, Rainham, which has outline consent for 202 homes, 25% of which will be affordable, from Medway Council. Redrow will invest more than £2m into upgrading Rainham’s sustainable transport services, its healthy living centre, library and schools.
