Redrow said it was on course to more than double output of its affordable homes next year but claimed intransigence from local authorities prevented them building more in the south-east, the region with the most acute housing affordability problems.
The housebuilder made 213 legal completion of its Debut range in the year to 30 June and said in a trading update that it expected output to increase to 500 in the new financial year, with planning in place for 900 Debut homes.
