Redrow has warned its profit will halve this year, as rising costs deter potential buyers.
The housebuilder said its order book for the year ahead had also almost halved, from £1.44bn to £850m.
Over the past 10 weeks it has been selling 0.34 homes a week at each of its 115 or so developments, again, half as many as at the same time last year.
Redrow hopes to achieve annual sales of between £1.65bn and £1.7bn, down from £2.13bn, and make a pretax profit of between £180m and £200m, down from £395m.
