Regional growth fund ‘boosts business’

Vince-Cable-THUMB.jpegBusiness secretary Vince Cable announced today that the government’s regional growth fund had provided £1bn to businesses, and that this money had leveraged nearly £3bn in private sector investment.

Cable claimed the fund was on track to deliver 573,000 jobs by the end of the decade.

He said: “So far, the regional growth fund has secured £4bn of investment in companies across England. This is a great achievement, helping people and businesses across the country, and there is still more to come.”

The selected bids for the sixth round of the fund will be unveiled next year.
