WEEKEND PAPERS: The Competition and Markets Authority has given its approval to Heineken’s proposed takeover of Punch Taverns after Heineken agreed to sell pubs in 33 local areas.
Heineken made the proposal after the regulator in June raised concerns that the deal could reduce competition in the areas.
The CMA said it was satisfied its concerns had been addressed and that it would therefore not proceed to an in-depth phase 2 investigation.
