Serviced office specialist Regus Business Centres is planning to open 50 new facilities in Germany in the next 12 months, through a joint venture with De Te Immobilien, the property arm of Deutsche Telekom.
The venture, known as Bport, will extend the concept of instant offices to other types of space such as warehouses and production facilities. After a six-month trial period, the partners plan to set up a separate company.
De Te Immobilien will bring the commercial properties to the table, while Regus will provide its know-how as an operator of business centres. They have identified companies from the IT-sector, logistic businesses as well as construction and production industries as potential customers. The offer is especially geared towards users operating on a nationwide basis. Other target clients are start-up companies looking for office space.
For the trial phase, commercial space is available in Hamburg, Stuttgart, and Hannover. For De Te Immobilien the joint venture marks another step forward in marketing the space no longer required by Telekom whilst Regus expects to expand its business into new markets.
