The proportion of jobs being advertised as “remote working” roles have quadrupled in the past year.
As of February 3.6% of roles were being advertised as “remote”, up from 0.8% a year earlier.
According to the New Street Consulting Group the number of remote working roles had risen to 78,000, and were for jobs were that would permanently be the arrangement, not simply until social distancing guidance changed.
Natalie Douglass, from New Street Consulting, said: “For businesses, the attractions of moving to remote working are often very clear — the reduction in property overheads can be substantial.”
