Manchester developer Renaker has been granted planning for two 51-storey towers near Deansgate.
The towers, part of the Great Jackson Street masterplan at the southern end of the city centre, will provide 988 homes, co-working space, gym and lounges.
The Simpson Haugh-designed development will also create just under an acre of public realm at its centre, delivering strategic pedestrian and cycle link between Hulme and the Manchester city centre.
The towers will feature chamfered edges, incrementally increasing and decreasing every five storeys to create a dynamic vertical movement up the tower. A subtle variation in façade colour is intended to give each tower its own distinctive identity.
Renaker said that the permission was a further step towards its vision for the city centre neighbourhoods and would build upon its the success of Deansgate Square, Crown Street and Castle Wharf.
Renaker’s The Blade and 360 developments are already under construction.
