Scottish regeneration body Renfrewshire Enterprise (RE) is expanding the Inchinnan Business Park near Glasgow Airport, by a further 28ha (70 acres).
RE said the new land could accommodate up to 27,870 sq m (300,000 sq ft) of business and development space, served by £2.5m of new roads and infrastructure.
David Bell, assistant director of property and environment at the local enterprise company, said Inchinnan was currently home to 18 companies, occupying 69,675 sq m (750,000 sq ft) on 81ha (200 acres), employing 1,800 people. They include firms such as Sillceck Mouldings and Robinson Nugent.
Rental levels are around the £48 per sq m (£4.50 per sq ft) mark, but RE believe rates could reach £54 per sq m (£5 per sq ft) on the new land. The expansion represents the final phase of development for Inchinnan Business Park which borders the proposed 465 ha (1,150 acre) Abbotsholm campus.
Bell added: “Over the past year or so, Inchinnan has secured one headquarters and three European headquarters, all attracted by the availability of skilled labour, proximity to the airport and a high quality, low density environment.”
