Build-to-rent flats in the first half of 2018 achieved rent that on average was 9% higher than rent on comparable buy-to-let flats.
According to research from Colliers International, rents for one-bedroom flats were 9.9% higher, and for two bedroom 9.4% higher.
It said these premiums were marginally up from last year’s figures, showing rental growth had been stronger in BTR schemes than in the wider UK rental market.
From the 99 sample schemes, the research identified a concierge service, residents’ gym and lounge as three key amenities that were most common and that tenants pay for in professionally managed BTR schemes.
