Both repossessions and the number of mortgages in arrears were at a record low in the second quarter, figures from UK Finance show.
The number of mortgages in arrears on 2.5% of the outstanding balance totalled 88,200, down 5% from the first quarter which was the previous low. The number in serious arrears – behind on 10% or more – also fell by 5%.
The number of repossessions fell to 1,900 from 1,800 in Q1.
