Resi towers set to sprout

A series of residential towers are set to spring forth as developers and investors take a big punt on the renewed appetite for high-rise living.

Moda Living plans to build 1,500 high rise homes for rent in the next 18 months, and will shortly apply for planning permission for the 36-storey Angel Gardens in Manchester. A 40-storey, 325-home tower in Liverpool and projects in Leeds, Edinburgh, Bristol and Glasgow will follow.

Housebuilder Hub, backed by Venn Partners, is constructing two towers in London’s Royal Docks. Meanwhile Realtor Living won planning permission in October for a 45-storey tower in Elephant & Castle.

CBRE has predicted that a multibillion pound wave of investment is expected to boost the UK’s rented housing market.
