City & Northern have submitted a planning application to North Tyneside council for a £24m retail park on 40 acres at Seaton Burn, by the A1 Tyne Tunnel Road.
The scheme would total over 300,000 sq ft in nine units, including a sports shop and a garden centre. The units would range from 18,000 sq ft to 40,000 sq ft. Also included would be a bus station and 2,000 parking spaces. The land is already owned by the developers.
Elliott Ward of City & Northern said: “There will be no trouble in raising the finance.”
There were no agents acting for the developers.
