NFC Properties, part of the National Freight corporation, want to develop a 225,000-sq ft retail warehouse park on 20 acres of derelict land owned jointly with British Rail in Hunslet, close to central Leeds.
The £10m Crown Point Retail Park would have 11 units, a restaurant, fast food outlet, garden centre and parking for 1,150 cars.
Donaldsons, who are managing the project for NFC Properties, say that Allied Carpets, Halfords and Great Mills DIY are lined up to take space, with other retailers soon to follow. A planning application has gone into Leeds council.
