Retirement Villages Group has hired Clair Carpenter as its new senior executive.
Carpenter will lead the business’ employees through an ambitious growth strategy to acquire, develop and operate 5,000 homes across 30-40 new UK developments in the next 10 years. She will be primarily responsible for people and culture, technology, change and internal communications.
Carpenter will report to RVG’s chief executive Will Bax. She will also work in collaboration with Stewart Moore, who previously held the position of chief operating officer, as he officially moves into the role of chief customer officer.
She moves from her role as global director of employee experience at LRQA. She also held the position of group head of organisational development, capability, talent, and resourcing at IMI, and was the head of people, planning, and development at EDF Energy.
Carpenter said: “I am a strong believer of putting employees at the heart of any business, as they are the ones who make us shine and succeed. I am looking forward to leading our 411 employees through this exciting period of change, and I can’t wait to play a critical part in RVG’s ambitious plans for the future of retirement living.”
Bax added: “At RVG, we are pioneering the next generation of retirement living, creating more sustainable ways of living, and supporting older people to live healthy, independent lives for longer.
“The appointment of Clair is a significant moment, and one that positions the business and our employees strongly for what will be the most ambitious period of growth in our 30-year history. We welcome her enthusiasm and experience in driving positive operational change and cannot wait to see the results.”
