Revamp floated for Hemel Hempstead paper mill

Paper maker Sappi will put its 20-acre site in Hemel Hempstead on the market this autumn.

Production at the loss-making Nash Mill ceased in May.

Sappi has now hired Nelson Bakewell to market the site, next to the Grand Union Canal. One resi developer said that it could attract bids of at least £20m.

The main site comprises 12.5 acres, with the rest being greenbelt land. Nelson Bakewell is assessing planning but will market the site on an unconditional basis.
