Revised Fulham Gasworks plans up for vote

Revised plans for a mixed-use scheme at Fulham Gasworks will land in front of Hammersmith and Fulham Council’s planning committee next week.

Berkeley’s St William Homes has adjusted approved plans for the site at Imperial Road, SW6, including removing one of three towers and redistributing the planned homes across other sections of the development.

A planning statement from Lichfields said the changes were a result of planning policy changes and emerging building regulations for taller developments, including designing in a second staircase, third lift, “and a range of other measures in response to the amended fire safety regulations”.

Lichfields said the changes would have no impact on the number of homes – 1,843 – allowed on the site.

“There would be no change to the housing mix across the wider development as a result of the proposed amendments, and the precise housing mix for the remaining phases will be determined at reserved matters stage,” the firm added.

The plans are recommended for approval.
