Richardson Cordwell plans &#163:15m leisure complex at Five Ways, Birmingham

The Richardson Brothers and Cordwell Properties have submitted an outline planning application to Birmingham Council for a £15m family entertainment centre on a largely vacant 0.8 (2 acre) site on Broad Street, near Five Ways. St Martins Property Corporation currently owns the site.

The scheme, to be known as “Five Ways Leisure on Broad Street”, is being marketed as a new gateway attraction to Birmingham’s Convention Centre district. Proposals for the site include: a nine-screen cinema; a 22-lane bowling alley; two themed restaurants; a themed diner; a 1,672.2 sq m (18,000 sq ft) “evening leisure” venue (such as a nightclub) and secure parking for 500 cars.

As Richardson Cordwell, the two developers have recently completed a £5m waterside development on Broad Street at Regency Wharf.

DTZ Debenham Thorpe has been appointed letting agent for Five Ways Leisure.
