Midlands-based Richardson Developments is eagerly waiting for the property fall-out from BMW’s decision to sell Longbridge.
Don Richardson, who heads up the family-run company with his twin brother Roy, has confirmed that although no property discussions have taken place, the Richardsons are ‘ready, willing and able,’ to take advantage of space coming onto the market.
“We’re sitting on the edge of our seats waiting for the property fall-out at Longbridge. If a site came onto the market we’d definitely be interested. We’re finding it difficult to acquire major sites in the area,” he said.
Richardson believed the Rover plant would make a ‘highly successful’ business park because of its good location and access, and a development opportunity could come sooner rather than later. “BMW won’t waste time. Within the next few weeks decisions will be made,” he said.
