RICS members are to have access to specialist risk management advice to help them avoid claims of professional negligence.
A series of events aimed at helping members avoid claims of professional negligence are planned around the country following the organisation’s agreement of a one-year deal with insurer St Paul Travelers.
Members will be able to access risk management information in a new section of the RICS website to be launched later this month.
Experts in avoiding professional negligence claims from St Paul Travelers – an insurer specialising in professional indemnity insurance – will lead seminars in RICS regions.
Risk management information will also be available to chartered surveyors in RICS e-bulletins, briefing documents and weekly newsletters.
A spokesman for RICS said, “Information to help reduce risk and claims on professional indemnity insurance was identified by as a priority in our member surveys.”
