Countrywide has launched a competing website to Rightmove.
The market shrugged off the move by what was formerly Rightmove’s biggest shareholder.
Rightmove reported that limited housing supply helped lift property prices 4.1% in January because of a restricted number of sellers and increased demand. The shares closed down 0.2% at 528.5p.
