Rightmove points to ‘Boris Boost’ for house prices

New evidence of a “Boris Boost” to house prices has emerged after figures from Rightmove show a 2.3% rise in values since the general election.

The property search website says that the average asking price is now £306,810, a rise of £6,785.

It is the largest monthly rise for this time of year since Rightmove’s records began in 2002.

Many estate agents have reported that buyers appear more confident, and that the Conservative’s landslide victory had unleashed a wave of pent-up demand.
