Regional SME housebuilder Rippon Homes is set to deliver 39 modular homes in Leicestershire as part of a multi-million-pound partnership with Etopia, which will enable the use of its platform to make homes net-zero ready.
Etopia will provide pre-manufactured panels that form a home’s structure – such as walls, roof and flooring – and that help to achieve at least an 88 EPC rating. If customers install solar panels, an EPC rating of 104 can be achieved, effectively making a home energy positive.
The modular development, Marquis Gardens, will consist of nine three-bedroom homes and 14 four-bedroom homes – all of which will be for private sale. The remaining 16 homes will be a mixture of one and two-bedroom affordable homes.
Joseph Daniels, founder and chief executive of Etopia, said: “Helping SME housebuilders, who don’t always have the resources and capacity to innovate, has never been more critical as the UK continues to tackle the climate and housing crisis.”
