Verdict has published a report today showing traditional retailers are abandoning high streets because of rising rents.
Coffee bars, fast-food retailers and mobile phone shops higher-margin businesses – are replacing them.
The research companys chairman, Richard Hyman, said either the property market reviewed rents or high streets would have significantly less choice.
