RJB Mining is set to shut down another six deep coal mines following the closure last week of the Point of Ayr colliery in north Wales.
The mines likely to face closure are Ashfordby in Leicestershire, Haworth in Nottinghamshire and one of its five mines in Selby, North Yorkshire. Another Yorkshire mine is also earmarked for closure. Additionally, RJB is likely to amalgamate Welbeck, Derbyshire and Thorsby in Nottinghamshire.
