Robin Hood airport, near Doncaster, opens today.
It is sited at a former RAF base in South Yorkshire. Peel Holdings operates the airport, previously known as RAF Finningly.
Heathrow is investing £450m in creating facilities for the new Airbus A380 which took its maiden flight yesterday.
