Rock investments revs up F1 deal

Paul Kemsley’s Rock Investments has bought the engine manufacturing facilities for McLaren’s F1 cars.

Rock has paid Mercedes-Benz £5m for 85,00 0 sq ft of industrial buildings in Brixworth, near Northampton.

Mercedes-Benz will take a partial leaseback on the 10-acre site until it relocates to nearby facilities.

The acquisition comes as director Nick Fox is promoted to managing director of Rock’s European operations.

Its New York office has also completed the acquisition of 100 Fifth Avenue in Manhattan, and Rock, alongside Sports Direct founder Mike Ashley, has this week been stake-building in West End landlord Shaftesbury.
