Rockwell refreshes plans for One Battersea Bridge

London-based developer Rockwell is to revise its plans to deliver 142 homes at One Battersea Bridge, SW11, following feedback from the public.

The group submitted plans to develop the underused brownfield site in south London in May.

The Farrells-designed proposal would see 1 Battersea Bridge Road transformed from a highly energy inefficient building that has struggled to stay occupied into a residential scheme.

Of the proposed 142 homes in Rockwell’s regeneration plans, 35% would be affordable housing, with 70% designated for social rent. The plans comprise a mix of one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom residences and would deliver up to 18 large family homes.

The scheme would also provide more than  5,700 sq ft of modern, flexible, affordable office floorspace, a new community hub and public realm improvements.

However, in response to feedback from “key stakeholders”, Rockwell said it was now preparing to submit revised proposals to “further enhance the public benefits deliverable” on the site.

Managing director Nicholas Mee said: “We have worked closely with Wandsworth Council to maximise public benefits, transforming an outdated building to create new jobs, community spaces, and much-needed affordable homes.”

The revised plans will go out to public consultation from 12 October.
